About Me

It all began at school in England, where I was given the username 02whitta. That username ultimately had no significance back then however now it is an obvious sign post back to the start of my journey in art. At that time, I decided not to follow my passion, choosing a different path: golf - something that I still love to this day.

Regrettably, art faded far from the forefront of my mind but that wouldn’t be permanent. A bold decision to leave my job in London and explore the world back in 2016 saw my forgotten passion re-emerge: my love for art returned, my love for creation returned and I was reminded exactly how art fuelled my mind, giving me genuine purpose that I’d been searching for, but had so desperately been lacking. Re-energised and refocused on what motivated and stimulated my mind creatively, I decided that an artistic route was something I could simply not bypass again - this was something I had to follow.

I love trying out different forms of media. As most artists, I am still discovering my own style and enjoying this process. It’s always important to have someone wise looking over you. Fortunately as I explore my creativity, I am watched and inspired by the owl. It is therefore not a surprise that you might find Mr Owl in lots of my creations.

I find myself inspired by the use of bright, vivid colours and mandala-like pattern work and my intention with my work is to create a state of presence when observed.
